  Abstract:

  Da‘wah is the name of the missionary activity in Islam. Prophet Muḥammad (peace be upon him) performed da‘wah as the fundamental purpose of his mission. The best way that Muḥammad (peace be upon him) adopted in da‘wah was to invite people with wisdom and eloquent preaching, and if they argued, argument with them in the best and most gracious ways was asked to do (Al-Qur’ān, 16:125). Three basic principles of da‘wah were given in this Qu’ānic guidance: ḥikmah, maw‘izah ḥasanah, and jadl bi al-aḥsan. The approach of da‘wah in Islam depends upon a clear understanding of these three terms. This paper studies these basic principles of the Islamic da‘wah.

  Abstract:

  Aware of the problems of the dualist approach in education, in the 1970s, a theory termed ‘Islamization of Knowledge’ (hereto referred as ‘IOK’) was proposed (Al-Faruqi, 1982; Al Alwani, 1989; Al-Attas, 1997) which intended to teach natural and human sciences from the view of Islam. Things moved from theory to practice when Islamic schools and universities were founded in several Muslim societies. In the case of teaching Human Sciences, particularly sociology, with an Islamic worldview, a few modest and ambitious approaches were proposed (Serajzadeh, 2014; Farid, 2011; Peow, 2010; Ragab, 1999; Al-Alwani, 1989). In the coming sections, a brief history of IOK will be presented, followed by a critical analysis of the theoretical approaches to Islamizing Human sciences, particularly Sociology. Finally, a model of Islamization (that was qualitatively tested by the authors in an earlier article) will be deployed to find a conceptual and operational definition of sociology from Islamic Perspective. It is hoped definition of Islamic Sociology, will guide the authors to operationalize a curriculum for Islamic Sociology in the near future.

  Abstract:

  This study deals with the Sufi Trusteeship Theory, which seeks to introduce a model of human cognition based on the relationship between God Almighty and Human, which was present in the Unseen World and is considered the cognitive and existential origin of Human, who knew his God and himself before his existence in the Seen World, as knowledge preceded existence in the Seen World, but existence precedes knowledge in the Unseen World (al-Ghaib). The Trusteeship Theory is based on three Unseen origins, which Ṭaha ʿAbd al-Raḥmān calls “the Divine Charters,” which are the origin of the relationship between God Almighty, and Human. The first charter, namely, the Charter of Witness, focuses on Human's knowledge of his God and of himself, which is the origin of human knowledge. The second charter / convention, the Charter of Trusteeship, is Human's acceptance of his choice of the Trust (Ahumana). The Charter of Transmission is the relationship between God and His transmitters / messengers. Knowledge of the Unseen accompanied the creation of Human, which placed wujūb (necessity) and wujūd (existence) in a state of dichotomy, and it constitutes the human knowledge connected to the attributes of the absolute Divine Self (God), which represents what must exist and which is based on the totality of ethical values and moral ideals that are connected to God's attributes. Thus, God is the creator (khaliq) and the ethicizer (mukhalliq), who distinguishes human from other creatures by his ethics and makes him known as an ethical creature, which implies that the quiddity of human lies in his ethical attributes and not in his mental or rational attributes.

  Abstract:

  Islam honored women, exalted their status, and gave them rights that they lacked before Islam. It also granted them rights that were not considered by other religions and many contemporary systems. Among the most important of these rights, which were sponsored by Islamic legislation and whose provisions were made clear are the rights of the wife, especially the right to get Proper maintenance from her husband. Sometimes it happens that the husband goes through difficult circumstances and financial hardship in which he loses his source of livelihood or falls short of meeting, his wife’s living needs. In this case, does the wife have the right to request separation from her husband due to harm borne on her? What is the position of Islamic Sharia and Qatari family law on this issue? The research concluded that what is most likely opinion in the issue is that the woman has the right to request separation from her husband, although it is better for her to be patient with her husband’s insolvency, perhaps Allah will bring about ease after hardship, and that separation resulting from insolvency is considered an annulment (Fask) and not a divorce (Talaq), which is The opinion was adopted and included in the Qatari Family Law.
